The Schäftlmaier traditional company was founded on July 1st, 1949 in Aschau am Inn, Germany by Josef Schäftlmaier, who came to his learned profession through electric utilities. Water turbines, generators und diesel generation sets were his greatest passion.

Wolfgang Schäftlmaier, whose career began with an apprenticeship as a high voltage electrician at SIEMENS in Munich, Germany, assumed operations in 1983. He conducted his studies in electrical engineering with the focal topics of energy, measurement and control technology at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich and then worked as an engineer at:

• LOWI Chemical plant in Waldkraiburg (energy, measurement and control technological planning as well as construction supervision for a plant that manufactures antioxidants)
• SULZER-ESCHER-WYSS in Ravensburg (planning electrical controls and supervision of turbo compressors)
• LINDE AG in Munich-Hoellrieglskreuth (EMR planning, construction supervision and start-up procedures for a bioreactor, an oxygen bottle plant, an acetylene production facility and an air decompressor)

He expanded his father’s operations to include the areas of construction, switchgear construction and software. Since then, the company has been particularly active in measurement, regulation and automatic technologies. With a good dose of innovation and lifeblood, the initially small-time operation became a middle-class business. The company possesses a great deal of know-how along with many years of experience, all of which is invested in planning correctly right up to the start-up procedure.

Quality Management as per DIN ISO 9001 was implemented in 1995. Quality Management serves both our customers and for the optimization of the internal business procedures.

From 1998 – 2001, the representative company building was completely remodeled and expanded upon. It currently serves as the work station for 45 technicians, engineers, merchants and commercial employees.

ISO 9001 was transferred into ISO 9001:2000 in 2004.

In 2010, the Schäftlmaier company was successfully recertified. The proven Quality Management ISO 9001:2008 has been an inherent part of all of the company’s procedures for over 15 years.
